Background
A home appliance manufacturer was developing a compact smart appliance with an internal control
board, power module, and sensor system. As the product structure became thinner and more
integrated, heat from the electronic components was difficult to release naturally.
The customer needed a small cooling fan that could fit into a narrow internal space without
increasing noise or affecting the appliance structure.
Challenge
The main challenge was the limited space around the control board. A standard fan would take up
too much room, while passive cooling alone could not provide enough airflow.
The appliance also required quiet operation because it would be used in a home environment. For
this reason, the fan needed to be compact, low-noise, and reliable for long-term operation.
YCCFAN Solution
YCCFAN recommended a compact micro cooling fan design based on the customer’s internal structure
and airflow direction. For this case, a 30mm fan with a 5v dc fan configuration was selected to
match the low-power electronic control board.
The solution helped direct airflow across the heat-generating components while keeping the
overall structure compact. Wire length, connector type, speed, and bearing options could also be
customized according to the customer’s assembly requirements.
Results
With the small fan integrated into the control board area, the appliance achieved more stable
internal airflow and improved thermal performance. The compact fan design also helped the
customer keep the product structure slim while supporting reliable operation of the electronic
components.
